My name is Kris Flora; I have been a nurse for 30+ years and an associate therapist for 2 years. During my work in healthcare I have learned how important is to care for people as whole and not just separate parts. Mental well-being and physical well-being walk hand in hand.  Each of us will come up against events, situations or people that we need support and encouragement to navigate. In my role as a therapist, I want to create space for you to feel safe and supported.

I have experience in working with clients that are facing grief, chronic illness, depression, anxiety, trauma, suicide bereavement and disordered eating. In addition, I have experience in working with college students as they take next steps in professional and personal areas.

Kris Flora, LMHCA, RN, therapist in South Bend, IN

My education includes undergraduate degrees from Indiana State University in Nursing. My graduate work took place at Valparaiso University with a Master’s in Nursing with a focus in Psychiatric Nursing, as well as, as Master’s in counseling from Bethel University. I have also completed the Caritas Coach in Caring Science program with Dr. Jean Watson in Boulder, Colorado. I have worked at several of the local health systems, Indiana University at South Bend and Southwestern Michigan College.

My foundation to counseling is a focus on establishing a relationship that is based on warmth, genuineness and caring. In addition, I believe supporting individuals to do this work a privilege.
